Blue Denim was the kennel name of a very good and dear friend of mine named Greg Caliendo. Greg and I used to show dogs and travel together in the 70’s.
He had a convertible Mark IV that we would travel in. We would have a Sheepdog (his breed) and a Great Dane (my breed) in the backseat and all of our “stuff” in the huge trunk of his car. And that is how we would go to the shows. I showed different sheepdogs of Gregs while I was also showing my danes. We had a wonderful time. As time has gone on, I have shown paint horses and was involved with registered Angus cattle while my son was in high school. After he went off to college, I didn’t have anything to show. My friend and sheepdog mentor, Joy Kelley said come show sheepdogs for me and from that point on is where the next era of my life has begun….I called Greg one day after showing and asked permission to use his kennel name and he said he would be honored. A tear came to my eye when he sent me his grooming apron and I have used it exclusively ever since.
My kennel name is now Blue Denim OES.
